Migration of the control system to the new generation
The Kořensko hydroelectric power plant located on the Vltava cascade is another reference of ČEZ a.s. The power plant consists of two blocks, each with an installed capacity of 1.9 MW and is remotely controlled from the control room in Štěchovice.
In 2021, we upgraded our own control and management system based on ZAT-DV to the new modern SandRA Z200 system. As part of the project, the control system of both sets and the control of common engine room equipment were reconstructed. We also reconstructed the equipment of group regulation, communication for remote service and all equipment of the common ground.
The implementation of the project confirmed our ability to deliver a simple, and at the same time very powerful solution for the management of small hydropower plants, to the full satisfaction of demanding customers. Adherence to ČEZ's requirements, including compliance with the cyber security standards of critical infrastructure equipment, is a matter of course for us.
As part of the migration, we replaced the ZAT-DV system with a modern ZAT Z200 control system in all switchboards. The power supply part, including surge protectors and switchboard ventilation, also underwent modernization. In addition to our own deliveries of HW and SW, we also used the services of a subcontractor Andritz Hydro to supplement the signaling at the operator's workplace at the Hněvkovice power plant.
Communication between the individual parts is newly implemented by the communication protocol IEC 60870-5-104. We replaced the original GPS control panel with a new one from the company Meinberg. Communication in the Vltava river basin is led out of the control system by a separate communication port with the PERNET communication protocol. This outlet is equipped with an Eagle Firewall from Hirschmann.
As part of the migration, we replaced the panel PCs with new ones. We have upgraded the existing Intouch licenses to the version used at the Lipno power plant. The advantage of this solution is the possibility of modifications from one engineering station in Štěchovice.
