We supported the 8th Small and Modular Reactors 2023 conference

ZAT has long been involved in the development of small nuclear reactors. Our control system is used, for example, by the Řež Research Center at the LVR-15 research reactor or by a company operating a small experimental nuclear reactor in Brazil.

Therefore, it was no surprise that we were among the leading partners of the Small and Modular Reactors conference, which took place in February at the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University. Over 160 experts, teachers and students from the academic sphere took part in the event.

The goal of the conference was to obtain information about real projects for the construction of nuclear reactors of smaller power, their presentation to the professional and technical public and to improve communication between the professional nuclear community.
The event was attended by representatives of the companies GE-Hitachi, Rolls-Royce, Westinghouse, EDF, Holtec, and from the Czech side representatives of the companies ČEZ, UJV Řež, Witkowitz, FJFI and ZČU.

"The mentioned foreign companies are among the potential suppliers of small and modular reactors for the Czech Republic. As part of the conference, we deepened our ties with all the participants by engaging in their supply chains," says Karel Stočes, marketing and sales director for nuclear energy.

ZAT is also ready to supply its control systems already during the development of technologies. After all, our systems are also indirectly involved in the development of the fourth generation nuclear reactor. An example is the management of hot chambers for materials research at the Research Center of the ÚJV Řež.
