One of the main topics of the AFP 2023 conference was the involvement of the Czech industry in the completion of the NPP

The All for Power Conference is undoubtedly one of the most important energy-related events in the Czech Republic. This year's 17th edition was also packed with current topics. The first day was marked by nuclear power and the involvement of Czech companies in the completion of new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic.

The importance of the topic was matched by the representation of speakers. The opening session brought together the main representatives of all three bidders - EDF, KHNP and Westinghouse/Bechtel. The Ministry of Industry and Trade was represented by Tomáš Ehler, while Josef Perlík spoke on behalf of the Czech Power Industry Alliance. He spoke about the need for significant involvement of the Czech industry in the completion of new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic. According to Perlík, intensive negotiations are currently underway between the bidders and representatives of Czech companies. According to him, it is necessary that the final parameters be negotiated by February 2024 at the latest. He also stressed the importance of the involvement of Czech companies in the reconstruction of the energy sector in Ukraine.

The event was also attended by the management of ZAT. According to the words of Ivo Tichý, Executive Director and member of the Board of Directors, ZAT has the ambition to be involved in the supply of control systems for the new units under construction in the Czech Republic from 60% of the total volume of SKŘ. "Our systems are deployed at both Czech nuclear power plants and we own one of the most advanced control systems on the market. There is no reason why we, as a Czech company, should not be invited to the tender," adds Ivo Tichý.

The conference was also attended by Karel Stočes and František Kural, Marketing and Sales Directors for power engineering. They stated that at the event they received important information about the investment plans of major customers based on the current power concept of the Czech Republic.
