We have modernized the control of two turbines of the largest Slovak hydroelectric power plant Gabčíkovo
We have completed another successful modernization of part of the Slovak hydroelectric power plant Gabčíkovo control system. "We implemented a complete replacement of turbine controllers at Units 7 and 8, where we installed a new type of compact turbine controller, SandRA Z211 CTC, which we launched in 2019," says Ivo Tichý, Member of the Board of Directors of ZAT a.s.
It is a simple and affordable solution that will increase the reliability of the operation of the controlled technology and reduce operating costs. At the same time, it maintains the speed, performance, and communication capabilities of a robust and usually more expensive solution. For a long time, we have been participating in the modernization of the main parts of the power plant, which ensure the production of electricity.
The Gabčíkovo hydroelectric power plant has eight units in operation. ZAT systems are currently installed on five units for excitation regulation and four for turbine regulation. It controls the production of electricity and the power flowing into the distribution network, while maintaining the voltage at the required value.
