We presented our competences in the completion of the Dukovany NPP to the members of the Economic Committee of the Chamber of Deputies
Members of the Economic Committee of the Chamber of Deputies met on Wednesday 21 June with representatives of the largest technology companies in the field of nuclear power associated in the Czech Power Industry Alliance. They discussed the need to ensure guarantees for the Czech industry to be involved in the supply chain for the construction of new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic.
The situation is so urgent that the Economic Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic decided to address this issue in June. It is now high time to negotiate with bidders for the involvement of Czech companies. "In October, when they will submit their offers, it will be too late. If this does not happen, there is a real risk that it will be more profitable for the winners of the tender to hire foreign suppliers for the completion of the nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic, with whom they will cooperate on contracts in Europe, where the participation of local companies is negotiated by the state," said Josef Perlík, Executive Director of the Czech Power Industry Alliance.
"Our company has deployed control systems on all VVER units in the European Union. We have one of the most advanced control systems in the nuclear power engineering on the market, meeting the most demanding safety conditions according to the requirements of European regulators. Therefore, we believe that we will be an integral part of the supply chain also in the construction of new nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic," said Ivo Tichý, Executive Director and Member of the Board of Directors of ZAT.
Ivo Tichý also personally presented our competences in the nuclear power engineering to the members of the Economic Committee of the Parliament and discussed with them the possibilities of ZAT's involvement in the construction of new units in the Czech Republic. He emphasized that ZAT control systems are also deployed at all nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. "Even to ensure quality service of control systems throughout the lifetime of a nuclear power plant, it is necessary that control systems from the Czech Republic are part of the supply," Ivo Tichý added.
